April 26th, 2009: Middletown GOP Misinforming Voters
The Middletown GOP is trying to misinform
voters once again. They are taking credit for bringing $610 million to
Middletown for energy improvements. As Marilyn Tuohy wrote last week,
the money was granted as part of the economic stimulus package, not as
a result of GOP actions. The GOP is taking credit for obtaining the
money even though they were unaware of the grant when first asked about
it at a March 26 meeting (listen to the recording).
Ms. Tuohy's intentions were to correct the original
writer's misinformed letter. Why is it so hard for the Middletown GOP
to present accurate information? How can our residents trust the GOP to
adequately assess and address our most important issues if they are too
busy searching for others' accomplishments to call their own?
