FIORE FUMES?
The Republican candidate shouts back to the public

Republican candidate for Middletown Township Committee Anthony Paul Fiore told The Courier he would provide documentation for his resume secrets, if he "so chooses to do so."
On Monday, July 21, Fiore characterized the investigation into his background by The Courier as faulty and attempted to talk his way out of the recreation hole.
Fiore also said he would provide said documentation proving his recreation background in the Borough of Carteret when he was "ready," and that he would also consider giving this information to other newspapers, as well.
On Monday, July 28, Fiore said he had obtained said documents. "I'm deciding on my appropriate course of action," the candidate said. "We'll see "if I even want to pursue any type of dialogue with The Courier."
In a past interview with The Courier, Fiore said he was the "recreation director" in both the City of Linden and the Borough of Carteret during his summers between college semesters.
Fiore was listed as a playground director in Linden, in 1999.
Carteret municipal employees could not find documentation other than a payroll stub expending about $100 to Fiore, during the summer of 2000.
Fiore later told The Courier this pay was for acting as a baseball and
softball umpire.
A copy of Fiore's resume, submitted to Middletown Township in 2005, shows the candidate being a member of the Borough of Carteret's Recreation Commission under "volunteer experience" from 1995 to 1997.
On Friday" July 18, Fiore told The Courier he would be providing a letter from the head of recreation in Carteret, a letter that would prove he was the "head of the summer recreation program" in 1997 and 1998.
Never did he mention the current recreation director's name, the man he said had been head of the parks and recreation department for 20 years: Robert Kately has actually been with the Carteret Recreation Department for about 10 years. Kately said Fiore was probably the leader of the arts and crafts program, what he called a "day care" thing. "I think he was more geared toward the kids, arts and crafts," Kately said.
On Monday, July 21, Fiore denied saying Kately was the recreation director he intended to get the letter from. Fiore said he would provide a letter from Will Kolibas Sr., who Fiore said was head of the department when the candidate said he was head of the summer program.
Kolibas is a relative of Fiore's: his uncle.
Nowhere on Fiore's resume does he list any actual work experience in the field of recreation. Nothing is listed as experience in Linden at all.
Notably, Fiore said on his resume he was a member of Carteret's Republican Municipal Committee from 1997 to 2001, when he held the misspelled position of "Sargeant-atArms."
